Happy, happy Thursday! It’s just about time for a very belated weekend post from two weeks ago. Eek! I’ve been out-of-commission for the past week or so, due to a slight laptop issue — translation: I spilled water all over my keyboard. Yeppp! But I’m back up and running, and ready to share some pics from my first weekend in June! My friend Katie visited that weekend, and we ran a 5K together — the YAI Network Central Park Challenge — on Saturday. The turnout was amazing!
The race started early-morning, which worked out well, because the weather really heated up later that day. It was in the high 80’s — not necessarily ideal running weather, eh? We enjoyed the race nonetheless, although I was struggling a bit during that last mile. They only had one water station! Following the race, we met up with a few of my friends for brunch at Paradou.
We stopped back for a quick nap that afternoon, and then met back up that evening. Sunday morning, it was just as warm — correction — muggy. However, I still wanted to spend time outside. My friend Anna and I went to Battery Park, for my first time. It’s so underrated! The park is extremely clean, and almost, dare I say, a bit *tranquil* and quiet. It was a nice way to spend the afternoon.
We ended the day at Ronnybrook Dairy in Chelsea Market for an ice cream fix. My pick? Coconut! I’d never heard of coconut ice cream before, so I knew I just had to try it. Verdict: win! I’ll certainly be back, and next time I’m ordering a shake.
