Happy Sunday! I had a short-but-sweet relaxing weekend. After work on Friday, I headed to Magnolia Bakery. I’ve been meaning to try their “hummingbird cake” for a while. When I saw that they had a few slices left, I was eager to order one! It was absolutely AAAMAZING (just like everything else there!) The cake was banana-flavored with pineapple, walnuts and a generous portion of (heavenly!) cream cheese frosting. I could taste some brown sugar in there, too! It was the perfect balance of sweetness.
On Saturday, I shopped all day. I spent quite a bit of time in Intermix and Club Monaco! I discovered a few great things — in particular: a pair of gold Jimmy Choos. I will be dreaming about those for a while! On Sunday, I ran errands all morning; by the afternoon, I was ready for something sweet! I met a friend at Laduree, a macaroon shop on the Upper East Side. Surprisingly, this was my first “macaroon experience.” THESE macaroons were fabulous! (Although I have nothing to compare them to…) I ordered two: the almond and the caramel. They melted in my mouth and the rich, poptart-like filling oozed out. I will surely be back!
